A Golden Gate Day

Last week marked a special 75 years for the beautiful Golden Gate Bridge. One could feel the buzz about San Francisco as Chrissy Fields, The Marina, and the span were all especially busy this Memorial Day Weekend for the anniversary celebrations.

I went for a ride to Muir woods with some friends, and had expected to endure a stressful commute across the span. Dodging in and out between cyclists and tourists on the east path had been the norm for the past few months. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the bike lane was back open for business since it had been under renovation for quite some time.

No fog and a brand new bike-way!

I returned to the Marina at night to witness the fireworks from a rooftop. The show was nearly a half hour long and truly a spectacle.

Here is a not so professional picture of the show:

Hearing the crowd roar and people cheering as the fireworks lit up the sky — just another reason to love this City.
