We are very stoked to sponsor the Red Hook Crit again in 2013. The Crit is growing up. A lone race in Red Hook has evolved into a four race championship series with races in Brooklyn, Milan, and Barcelona.
The Red Hook Criterium is proud to announce the introduction of a cohesive championship series which will take place over four rounds. Points will be accumulated throughout the season to award the first Red Hook Criterium World Champion. The first round will take place on March 30th in Red Hook, Brooklyn. In addition we will be introducing a new qualifying format, a constructors/team cup, and an expanded prize list. We are also increasing our focus on the 5k running race with a two race series, the men and women’s fields held separately, and USATF certified courses.
What is the Red Hook Crit?
The Red Hook Crit (RHC) is an unsanctioned, fixed gear race run in the dark in cities around the world. It’s ridden by an elite group of pro and amateur cyclists who qualify to race. The RHC combines the underground art of street racing with the intensity of high level competition in an urban environment.
Why Is Timbuk2 Into It?
Timbuk2 is hugely proud to sponsor the Red Hook Crit because it’s grassroots, fast, urban, pro and amateur, slightly terrifying, and amazing to watch. The first race this year will be held in Red Hook on March 30. We’ll be there. Join us?
