The time has come. The riders are here and they’re ready to go. There’s been so much anticipation for the Crit this year and we can really tell how far this event has come from its initial roots. There certainly is a bit of tension in the air as riders must first qualify to be eligible for the final race and the field is stacked.
We’re really excited about the crew of riders representing Timbuk2. These guys and gals certainly all have what it takes to win and we’re really looking forward to spending more time with them and seeing them in action.
Neil Bezdek: A two-time winner and two-time runner-up of the Red Hook Criterium, Neil currently works with the city of New York to help the wheels start turning for the upcoming bike-share program.
Kelli Samuelson: Kelli spends her time in Southern-California, riding bikes and providing quality in-home hair cuts by bike. She currently rides for Ritte Women’s Cycling Team and definitely has the legs to get to the front of the pack.
Evan Murphy: Evan is a three year veteran of the crit, winner of Red Hook Milano and had a podium finish (3rd) in Brooklyn last year. When not riding bikes he’s busy working for the artist Tom Sachs and making custom furniture.
Kacey Lloyd: Kacey is the winner of the first ever Red Hook Criterium, beating out all the boys in 2008. She’s raced the crit every year and just can’t get away from this event. She finished in 9th placed last year and was once again the first female to cross the finish line.
