Timbuk2 Bikes to Work

As most of you know, we’re all big fans of cycling at Timbuk2. We ride to work, have a free bike-share program at our retail locations, make bags for folks who ride…well we could go on, you get the idea. May is National Bike to Work Month and the perfect time to celebrate cycling and all its glory. San Francisco celebrates Bike to Work Day today, a bit earlier than most cities around the US.

Timbuk2 came away with a great award from the San Francisco Bike Coalition . We were presented a Bicycle-Friendly Business Award for huge employee ridership and great incentives for employees to bike to work. To claim the prize, our CEO, Mike Wallenfells rode over 30 miles from his home in Novato to Civic Center in San Francisco. The mayor was there to speak on the efforts for improving cycling in the city. He also awarded the Bicycle-Friendly Businesses their awards.

A fist pump from Mike upon receiving the award!

Meanwhile, we were also busy manning one of the many energizer stations throughout the city, giving out goodies and cheering on all the folks riding to work.

We passed out Bike to Work Totes

as well as bike seat covers:

Because if you ride, you know…we’ve got your ass covered.

Once we made it back into the office, we had breakfast waiting for us thanks to Tony (our CFO) and his wife Shelley:

Mike rode in to the office and proudly held up our award:

which is now proudly displayed in our office!

Happy Bike to Work Day!
