Samahope WIYB

In our second What’s in Your Bag feature from Samahope we take a peek into the life and daily carry of Dr. Robert in Uganda. Samahope helps crowdfund donations for heroic doctors who provide life-changing surgeries for women and children in low-income countries in sub-Saharan Africa, South Asia, and Latin America.

Meet Dr. Robert:

Dr. Robert Kalyesubula is the Director of ACCESS (African Community Center for Social Sustainability), a community-based organization in Uganda’s Nakaseke District that is dedicated to providing vulnerable groups with medical care, education, and economic empowerment.

Check out what he brings with him while treating patients at ACCESS.

In Uganda, there is a severe lack of health workers, which inevitably results in rural areas like Nakaseke being underserved. Dr. Robert says running the ACCESS clinic is his gift back, “I don’t do the surgeries for money, I do them for the community.”
